JAMMU, Nov 6: Jammu Municipal Corporation today destroyed more than one quintal of adulterated sweets at Dumping Ground Bhagwati Nagar during its ongoing drive against adulterated food items to ensure that pure sweets are made available to the citizens.
The adulterated sweets that were destroyed include Petha, Gulab Jamun, Rasgulla, Rasmalai and Patisa. The material was confiscated by a team of JMC officers led by Commissioner, Kiran Wattal.
The Corporation in its drive also advised the sweet sellers no to use rusted containers for storing the food items and ensure hygienic packing for sweets.
Shopkeepers dealing with food items are strictly warned and directed to ensure supply of good quality of food to the general public especially sweets and different type of milk products.
JMC appealed people to obtain license from it for their commercial establishments and also keep their premises neat and clean.
