Samba police arrests one more heroin smuggler

SAMBA, Feb 14 : Samba Police under the guidance of Senior Superintendent of Police, Benam Tosh have intensified operation against narcotic suppliers and arrested one more heroin peddler and recovered heroin (Chitta) weighing 2.25 grams worth rupees 12000.00 approximately from his possession.
The arrested heroin peddler has been identified as Yasir Hussain, son of Mohammad Amin Sheikh of Waserkund, tehsil & district Kishtwar presently Narwal Bala near Kargil colony, Jammu. A case FIR No. 34/2023 U/S 8/21/22/NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station (PS), Bari-Barhmana and investigation started.
A police party comprising of SDPO Bari-Brahmana Rahul Nagar and SHO, Bari-Brahmana, Sunil Sharma under the supervision of Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary while performing patrolling duty near Narvada Steel Factory, Industrial area, Bari-Brahmana intercepted one person who was moving under suspicious circumstances in the area. During his personal search, heroin like substance (Chitta) was recovered from his possession.
SSP Samba, Benam Tosh said that police is working hard to eradicate menace of narcotic substances from society and towards that end, total eight notorious suppliers of heroin, including three female heroin smugglers, have been arrested by Samba Police within a short period of one month and special nakas, traps and raids are regularly being conducted to nab other elements involved in narcotic trafficking and drugs supplying.
