DDC Poonch listens public issues at Mankote

POONCH, Feb 16: District Development Commissioner, Poonch, Inder Jeet listened to public issues at the weekly Block Diwas program held in the premises of Panchayat Ghar Balnoi, Block Mankote.
The people in large numbers interacted with the officers and officials of different departments and apprised them of the issues, demands and developmental needs in their respective areas.
The PRI members sought implementation of Jal Jivan Mission augmentation of power infrastructure, Medicare facility, repair of damaged transformers, implementation of water lift schemes, adequate teaching staff in different schools. Other specific issues projected included, Completion of all ongoing PHE schemes, completion of BG-Mendhar road, completion of Mankote to Choi road and Balnoi road, receiving station for Ghani, Chhajla and Sagra and Ambulance for Banoi Border belt, repair, installation of Handpumps in Mankote, Balnoi, Bunkers for left out villages, up-gradation of High School Sagra etc.
All the grievances and issues of the people were listened to by the Deputy Commissioner patiently and those of immediate nature were redressed on the spot.
The DDC assured the public that all their genuine issues would be addressed in a time bound manner. He directed the officers to work in coordination so that equitable development of all Panchayats is ensured in the district and people do not have to face any problems.
During the programme, Senior Superintendent of Police, Rohit Baskotra asked youth of the area to stay alert from ulterior design of enemies across the fence, who are attempting to push them in drug culture. The youth should act as the eyes and ears for police and district administration to ensure holistic development of the border area,” he added.
The Deputy Commissioner asked the Forest Department to clear the cases within time bound manner so that development projects are not held up for longer.
He was responding to the demand of the people regarding construction/completion of 120 meter span bridge which is awaiting Forest department clearance due to which the Mankote to Tie road is held up. The DC asked the forest department to give the clearance for this 120 mtr. span as per standing rules/ Law so that the public get benefitted.
The public also demanded construction of the Niabat building at Panchayat Kasblari and the Deputy Commissioner assured the public that the building was taken up under SSY.
The DC directed the Assistant Commissioner Development to take up the matter with the departments and explore the possibility for release of material payment.
The Deputy Commissioner asked the BDO to hold the BDC council meeting on a regular basis. He also asked the Assistant Commissioner Development and executive engineers of the PWD department to ensure the payment of bunkers within 10 days.
