Two killed in road accidents

RAMBAN, Feb 16: Two persons were today killed in two different road accidents here at Panthtyal, Ramsu and Shalhari area of Banihal on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
Police sources informed that a Srinagar bound vegetable laden truck bearing registration number PB02CR-9154 skidded off the road and fell into a gorge near Panthyal resulting in on spot death of the driver of the vehicle.
Police identified the deceased as Shamsher Singh son of Gurdev Singh, resident of Tarn Taran, Punjab.
In yet another road accident this morning, driver of a Dumper bearing registration number JK19-5877 while on way to Digdol Ramban from Banihal, lost control over the vehicle on reaching Shalgari on NH44 after which the vehicle rolled down into a Nallah resulting in injuries to the driver who was rescued by cops and volunteers and shifted to SDH Banihal where he was declared as brought dead.
Police has identified the deceased as Saquib Rasheed Itoo, son Abdul Rasheed Itoo, resident of Darshpoora, Banihal.
Police has registered two separate cases at Police Stations Ramsu and Banihal and started investigations.
