JAMMU, Nov 7: Retired Police personnel projected their issues in a meeting held here today.
The retired policemen under the banner of Ex-Policemen League assembled at the District Police Lines here today and discussed their issues. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of K S Sambyal, Retd DySP while, Virinder Bhasin, retired DySP presided over it. They demanded that some retired policemen, who are in the grip of serious ailments be provided financial assistance and their Medical allowance be enhanced from Rs 300 to Rs 1000 per month. They further demanded that an assistance of Rs 10,000 be provided from the Police Welfare Fund to the family in case of death of a retired police officer. All SHOs should be directed to visit the retired police officers of their jurisdiction in every quarter of the year to know about their health / welfare.
Several retired police officers attended the meeting. Some of them included Ch Chirag Din, P L Mattoo, M L Sharma- Retd SSPs, V K Gupta, P R Sharma, R K Bali, Yudhvir Anand, M M Bali, Mela Ram, Durga Dass and Inder Singh -all SPs.
