LPG leakage triggers blast, 4 receive burn injuries

JAMMU, Feb 17: At least four people were injured after leakage in an LPG cylinder triggered a television blast here at Channi Himmat area of the district on Friday, police said.
SHO Channi Himmat Police Station, Shiv Dev Singh Jamwal told the Excelsior that the fire erupted in the temporary accommodation of one Bablu of Madhya Pradesh at present Sector 4, Channi Himmat due to leakage in the LPG cylinder, resulting in a television blast in his home.
“Four people, identified as Krishna (12), Divya (10), and Ishant (4), the sons and daughter of Bablu and one Mahesh (32) son of Chunna Ram of Jodhpur, Rajashtan at present Extension-D, Sainik Colony Jammu, suffered burn injuries in the blast,” said the SHO, adding that the condition of one of the injured, Ishant is critical.
“All the injured have been shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu for treatment,” the police officer further said.
“We’re investigating the matter,” he added.
