Meraj-e-Alam being celebrated with religious fervor

Srinagar, Feb 18: Thousands of devotees from across Kashmir thronged Hazratbal shrine as Meraj-e-Alam is being celebrated with religious fervour today.
Thousands of people from across the Valley are holding night long prayers at the shrine on the occasion of Meraj-e-Alam, the night when Prophet Mohammad (SAW) made the journey across the skies.
Thousands of devotees offered congregational prayers in the shrine, housing the holy relic of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
The celebration of Mehraj-ul-Alam (PBUH) usually involves prayer, recitation of the Quran, and gatherings where the story of the Prophet’s journey is told.
The administration had made special arrangements and traffic was manned to ensure smooth movement. Many makeshift refreshment and medical camps were set up by various government and non-governmental organizations for the devotees.
Similar congregational prayers were held in many other shrines in the valley include Jinab Sahib Soura, Aasar-e-Sharief Shahri Kailshpora, Aasar-e-Sharief Lal Bazar, Khanqah-e-Mualla, Dastegeer Sahib Khanyar, Kohimaran, Ziyarat Syed Saib Sonwar and Ziyarat Makdoom Sahib.
The Waqf Board who manages and maintains all shrines and mosques in the J&K announced, the Holy Relic of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) will be displayed after each prayer for the First day, the 2nd day and on the Friday following Mehraj-ul-Alam (PBUH).
The Isha prayer on 18th Feb 2023, will be offered at exactly at ten o’clock (10:00) at night. After the Isha prayer, Khamatat-ul-Muazamat, Darood-u-Azkar, Naat-Khwaani and the gathering of Waaz-n-Tabligh will continue throughout the night.
