TIRUCHIRAPALLI, Nov 9: The department of Instrumentation and Control Engineering of the National Institute of Technology (NIT-T) here will organise a one day TEQIP sponsored Industrial Workshop on ‘BIOMEDICAL EQUIPMENT -TESTINGDEPARTMENT, here on November 16.
In a press release here today, Ms.V.Sridevi Co-ordinators of the workshop said it was essential to conduct quality testing and calibration procedures for all hospital equipments, by trained people to ensure that measurement errors must be eliminated and that devices can be used confidently without any doubts whatsoever on their performance.
They said Bio-Medical Equipments(BMEs) are broadly classified as Diagnostic and Therapeutic Equipments. It is graded and classified as per its application with the Patients. The objective of the course was to understand the importance of Bio-Medical equipment, its application and its function. This is mandatory for any BMEs to understand the equipment fully before handling them.
They said the Importance of Testing and Calibration of Bio-medical Equipments Electrical Safety and its Classification Patient Monitor Defibrillator Dialysis Equipment Infusion/Syringe Pump SPO2 Analyser Cautery Machine Ventilators Hands on Training, will also be highlighted at the workshop. (UNI)
