JAMMU, Nov 9: National Legal Services Day was celebrated by District and Tehsil Legal Services Authorities across the State.
District Legal Services Authority Ramban celebrated National Legal Services Day under the chairmanship of Rajesh Sekhri, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, which was attended by large number of people besides litigants and members of Bar Association. Speakers highlighted the need of Legal National Services Day and made the general public aware about their legal rights.
National Legal Services Day was observed today by Tehsil Legal Services Authority (TLSA) Majalta in the Court premises. A lok adalat and awareness camp was held in which the significance of the Legal Services Day was highlighted. Speaking on the occasion Sudesh Sharma Munsiff (JMIC) said that the main focus of observing such event is to make aware and to emphasize on Article 39 (A) of Indian Constitution which ensures that the State should promote justice on a basis of equal opportunity. Bar President Mohan Lal Gupta, secretary Advocate Amit Sharma and large number of litigants attended the camp.
Legal Services Day was celebrated in the District Court complex, Kathua under the chairmanship of District and Sessions Judge Kathua, in which judicial officers posted at district headquarters, members of Bar Association, litigants and general public took part. AK Koul, Principal District and Sessions Judge, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority dwelt on the aims, objectives and significance of the day.
District and Tehsil Legal Services Authority, Reasi celebrated National Legal Services Day in Court complex, Reasi under the chairmanship of YP Kotwal, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Principal, District and Sessions Judge. A legal awareness camp and lok adalat was organized on the occasion. While speaking, Kotwal threw light on ADR system, lok adalats, pre-litigations, legal aid clinics and different schemes launched by NALSA and SLSA for the benefit of the people. Kalpana Revo, Chairman, Tehsil Legal Services Committee, Archana Charak, Munsiff Reasi, KK Dubey, president, Bar Association, members of the Bar Association, litigants and general public were also present.
National Legal Services Day was celebrated by Tehsil Legal Services Committee, Doda under the chairmanship of Sunit Gupta, Chief Judicial Magisrate, Doda. While speaking, Gupta presented details about various activities of the legal services and other schemes. President Bar Association Ghulam Hassam, litigants, members of bar association and general public were present on the occasion.
National Legal Services Day was celebrated at District Court Complex, Rajouri by District Legal Services Authority, Rajouri. A detailed programme to highlight the significance of legal services day was held, in which large number of people took part. The retainer lawyers in their speeches highlighted the aims and objectives of various schemes and programmes initiated by District Legal Services Authority, Rajouri. Similar functions were also held at all the Tehsil headquarters of the district Rajouri.
A legal service camp was organized by Tehsil Legal Services Committee, Kargil to celebrate National Legal Services Day at Academy Hall Baroo. Chairman, District Legal Services Authority and Principal, District and Sessions Judge Kargil Justice Tahir Khursheed Raina was the chief guest, while Chief Judicial Magistrate Javed Aalam was the guest of honour. While speaking, Raina highlighted the importance of awareness regarding legal services. CJM, Munsiff Sankoo, DC, SP, ADC, members of Bar Association, litigants and general public attended the camp.
National Legal Services Day was celebrated at District Court Complex, Samba under the chairmanship of Inder Singh, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Samba. On the occasion, a special lok adalat was organized, in which 65 cases were taken up, out of which 56 cases were settled. SS Bali, Chairman, Tehsil Legal Services Committee, Sukhdev Singh Sambyal, PP Samba, Satish Dutta, president Bar Association, litigants, members of Bar Association and general public were also present.
