SAMBA, Feb 25: ARTO Samba, Rehana Tabassam along with her enforcement team conducted early morning checking of vehicles at Plah Morh on NH 44.
During the checking about 130 vehicles were checked out of which 49 were Challaned/compounded for various offences. The main focus of drive was overloading in passenger and goods vehicles, vehicles plying with over height, R/P violations, SLD violations, dangerous driving etc.
A fine to the tune of Rs.130000 was realised from violators on spot by the team while an amount of Rs.2.5 lac is expected from remaining challans.
Violators were strictly warned for adherence of Traffic rules and regulations otherwise strict action under various provisions of MV Act and rules will be initiated against them which included suspension of RCs, route permits and driving licenses. The drive will continue in future also. Besides, ARTO Samba, Rehana Tabassam, Vikas Srivats (MVI), Darshan Kumar (MVTA), Dinesh Paul, Khaminder, Sanju Charak, Abhindan, Jagdish (SA) were part of the enforcement team which carried out the drive.
