JU organizes seminar on `Buddhism & its Impact in Daily Life’

JAMMU, Feb 27: Department of Buddhist Studies in Jammu University organized a one-day seminar on the topic “Buddhism and its Impact in Daily Life”, here today.
Mingyur Dorjay from Zanskar, Ladakh was key note speaker and Dr Chhering Tandup was the chief guest of this seminar.
Dorjay briefly spoke about teaching of Buddha including the Four Nobel Truths, the Noble Eight Fold Path and their impact on the daily life of all human beings. He also suggested to all participants to practice Buddha’s teaching to overcome their suffering.
Dr Chhering Tandup addressed the gathering and talked about the relevance of Sunyata and their link between Quantum Physic in his lecture. He explained how Buddha’s teaching develops mental peace, truth, happiness and loving-kindness. He also talked about the impact of Buddhas teaching on King Ashoka and Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar.
Prof Shohab Inayat Malik, HoD of Buddhist Studies delivered the welcome address. Dr Rajesh Sharma (Faculty department of Buddhist studies) conducted the proceedings.
