JAMMU, Feb 28: The J&K Branch of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) was awarded with 2nd Prize as “Best Branch (Medium)” for the year 2022-23 at 71st Annual Award function of NIRC of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India organized at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi the other day.
The award was presented by NIRC Chairman CA, Naveen Garg in august presence of CA, Raj Chawla, Central Council Member, ICAI, CA, Hansraj Chugh, Central Council Member, ICAI and office bearers of NIRC to J&K branch which was represented by its Chairman, CA Nakul Saraf, CA, Vikas Purdhan, Vice- Chairman CA, Vineet Kohli, Secretary.
The awards are presented annually to the best performing branches of Northern regions of ICAI taking into consideration various parameters of excellence in performance. Under the chairmanship of CA, Nakul Saraf, the branch successfully conducted numerous continuing professional education programs including certificate and diploma courses where eminent speakers participated from all over the country. The branch conducted various batches of orientation, general management and communication skills, integrated & advance integrated course on Information Technology and soft skills, mock tests, etc for students. The branch also executed various social sector initiatives such as plantation drive, Swatch Bharat Abhiyan, Marathon, Yoga Day, MSME Day, blood donation Camps etc.
The J&K branch of ICAI, entering into MOU with Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) and Kashmir (DSEK), in order to educate the students about CA Profession & also about the waiver of 75% of course fee for students of J&K & Ladakh if registered before March 31, 2024. The J&K branch also conducted various career counseling programs at various schools in the state especially in Government, Army Schools, etc
Various platforms were provided for better interaction of the members with the Govt Departments like Income Tax, Commercial Taxes, Members of Trade & industry etc at branch level.
The other members of Executive Committee of J&K Branch of ICAI comprise of CA, Ayush Sawhney (Treasurer), CA Sourav Pargal (Executive Member) & CA Priya Seht, (Executive Member).
Various Central Council members, office bearers of Northern Regional Councils, Office bearers of various branches were also present at the annual function.
