JAMMU, Mar 4: Three Urban Local Bodies of Jammu district have agreed to adopt the newly introduced Property Tax in their respective areas.
RS Pura, Arnia and Bishnah Municipal Committees have passed resolution regarding adoption of Property Tax.
“The Revenue so generated through Property Tax will be used for the welfare of public & upgrading local assets within ULBs limits.J&K is the last UT’s in country to impose property tax & it’s Least in the country,” a Chairman said.
The Chairpersons said that Lt Governor Manoj Sinha has already stated that 40 percent of the population has been already excepted from paying the Property Tax.
These three ULBs have set an example for remaining ULBs in Jammu & even for others in various districts of Jammu Division.
