JAMMU, Mar 6: Police in Jammu District claimed on Monday that they have seized 10 vehicles for illegal mining in different areas of the district.
A police spokesperson said that one tipper was seized by Police Station Akhnoor, two tractor trolleys by Police Station Kahnachak, one tractor by Police Station RS Pura, two vehicles by Police Post Phallian Mandal, three vehicles by Police Post Jourian and one tractor trolley by Police Post Sidhra.
The recoveries were made by SHO Akhnoor, Inspector Harjeet Singh, SHO Kahnachak Inspector Rahul Mahajan, SHO RS Pura Inspector Pawan Kuamr, incharge Police Post Phallian Mandal PSI Ajesh Singh Jamwal, incharge police post Jourian Karnail Singh, and incharge police post Sidhra PSI Arun Kumar.
“The seized vehicles were mining illegally in violation of a High Court order,” said the police spokesperson, adding that DMO Jammu has been intimated about the recoveries.
