Young housewife found hanging in kitchen

UDHAMPUR, Mar 8: On International Women’s Day, a young housewife was found hanging under mysterious circumstances at the house of her-in laws at village Bhatyari in Ramnagar Tehsil.
According to the police report, Sandhya Devi (26) , wife of Joginder Kumar, resident of village Bhatyari, was found hanging from an iron angle in kitchen at her house.
On being informed by the family member, a Police party from Ramnagar Police Station rushed to the spot and took the dead body in their custody. The dead body was then shifted to Sub District Hospital Ramnagar for the postmortem.
The police after completion of all the legal formalities and postmortem, handed over the body to family members and registered a case in this connection for further investigation.
Meanwhile, in a separate case, an elderly man ended his life by consuming some poisonous substance at his residence in Tikri.
A police spokesman said that Ram Dass (64), son of Magudu Ram, resident of Tikri, consumed some poisonous substance. Family members rushed him to PHC Tikri where doctors referred him to GMC Hospital Jammu because of his serious condition. However, he did not respond to the treatment and died at GMC Hospital, Jammu.
Cause of provocation behind the extreme step could not be ascertained while Tikri Police has started inquest proceeding under Section 174 CrPC.
