JAMMU, Mar 8: Construction work of lane and drain from the house of Mohinder Kumar to the house of Girdhari Lal was started in Bazigar Basti by Councillor Sham Lal Basson in Ward 48, here today.
The condition of the lane and drain was dilapidated for a long time.
Councillor Sham Basson said that the works of the rest of the pending lanes and drains will be taken up very soon. The works of so many projects under Jammu smart City Limited are going on such as construction of parking at Gorkha Nagar, construction of deep drains/ nallah’s, a new parking near Mata Bawe Wali Temple, construction of parks opposite Balidan Stambh, landscaping on Har-Ki-Pauri road and renovation of Govt Higher School Bahu Fort, Jammu.
“The people of Bahu Fort are suffering for want of drinking water which will be overcome due to installation of Tube well at Sheikh Nagar, while the works for up-gradation of Mahakali Market is going on and all the shops will be upgraded in uniform pattern,” he said.
There are some lanes and drains which need immediate attention. Therefore estimates of the said works will be prepared so that the tendering process can be completed and work is taken at an earliest, Sham Basson said.
Prominent persons including Sham Lal Kalsi, Arjun Kumar, Hans Raj, Janak Raj, Sohni Ram, Mangat Kalsi, Jeet Kumar, Mewa Ram and Raj Kumar Gupta were present during the event.
