Basohli police arrests bootlegger, seizes 41 bottles of whisky

KATHUA, Mar 9 : District Police Kathua has arrested one bootlegger and seized 41 bottles of JK Excise Whisky (250 ml each) in the jurisdictional area of Police Station (PS) Basohli today.
Police said today a team led by Inspector, Rajinder Khajuria, SHO PS Basohli under the supervision of SDPO, Basohli, Aakash Kohli during its naka/ checking duty in its jurisdictional area at Basohli,
Apprehended one person namely Manmohan Singh, son of Anchal Singh of Pretha Nagrota who was wandering under suspicious circumstances.
On checking, a total of 41 bottles of JK Excise Whisky ( 250 ml each) were
recovered from his possession who has been arrested and the illicit liquor was seized. The accused was carrying illicit liquor
for sale at exorbitant rates in the adjoining area of PS Basohli in order to gain illegitimate profit.
A case FIR No. 12/2023 U/S 48 (a) Excise Act was registered at PS Basohli and investigation started.
