Seminar on ‘Modern Trends in Translation’ organized

JAMMU, Mar 11: Translation Research Centre of JKAACL organized a two day seminar on ‘Modern Trends in Translation’ at KL Saigal Hall, here today.
The seminar was organized under the guidance of Secretary JKAACL Bharat Singh, which was inaugurated by lighting of lamps by the dignitaries.
The first session was presided over by Darshan Darshi, eminent Dogri scholar and writer, while Dr. Naseeb Singh Manhas, IBPS, renowned Dogri writer and TV/Film Producer was the chief guest on the occasion and SSP Shailendra Singh was the guest of honor.
The Secretary JKAACL welcomed the dignitaries, writers, translators and the audience. In this session, a detailed keynote address was presented by Prof. Lalit Magotra which was highly appreciated by the writers and audience.
While delivering his presidential address, Darshan Darshi appreciated the JKAACL for organizing a seminar on such an important topic. The chief guest Dr. Naseeb Singh Manhas appreciated the employees working in the JKAACL for their efforts for organizing literary events and urged the Academy for doing translation of awarded literary books of different languages into others languages.
The guest of honour, Shailender Singh talked on the history and present scenario of translation. The proceedings of this session were done by Shahnawaz Choudhary, editor cum cultural officer, JKAACL, while the vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Rattan Basotra, editor Dogri and in-charge translation and Research Centre, JKAACL Jammu
The first paper reading session in a two day seminar on modern trends in translation was presided over by Prof. Lalit Magotra. Two papers were read in this session by Rejeshwar Singh Raju, noted writer, State and Sahitya Akademi Awardee.
He read his paper on the topic ‘Dogri Cha Horne Bhashayein Ch Hoye Da Anuvad’, while Sunita Bhadwal, Sahitya Akademi and Central Hindi Directorate Awardee read her paper on the topic ‘Horne Bhashayein Ch’.
During the session, the paper readers put light on the major translation works being done till date.
The proceedings of the paper reading session were conducted by Yash Paul Nirmal, Assistant editor, Dogri, JKAACL, Jammu. The presidium was also shared by Dr. Nirmal Vinod and Prof. Lalit Magotra and the vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Rattan Basotra Editor Dogri.
