Motorcyclist killed, pillion rider injured in road accident

JAMMU, Nov 13: A motorcyclist was killed, while the pillion rider was injured, when the motorcycle they were riding on collided with an alto car near Preet Nagar area, falling under the jurisdiction of Gandhi Nagar Police Station.
As per reports, 18-year-old Sahil, son of Doulat Ram and 16-year-old Rahul, son of Kuldeep Raj, both residents of Model Town, Gangyal were heading towards Nanak Nagar, when the motorcycle they were riding on collided with an alto car bearing registration number JK02AK-8172 near Preet Nagar area, falling under the jurisdiction of Gandhi Nagar Police Station.
The duo were rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where doctors declared Sahil as brought dead, while the condition of Rahul was stated to be out of danger, when last reports came in.
The body of the deceased has been handed over to family members for last rites after completing legal formalities.
The driver of the car identified as Santokh Singh, son of Gurcharan Singh of KC Colony, Preet Nagar flee from the spot and was arrested with half an hour by Incharge Police Post Digiana SI Sunil Singh under the supervision of SHO Gandhi Nagar Police Station Rajinder Sharma and SDPO East SS Sambyal.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Gandhi Nagar Police Station and investigation started.
