REASI, Mar 13: In a tragic incident, a minor boy and a youth drowned while taking bath in a nallah in Prankote area of Thakrakote, here today.
The deceased were identified as Mohd Arfan, age 22 years, son of Gulam Mohd, resident of Prankote and Shoket Ali, age 11 years, son of Abdul Gani, resident of Prankote. The minor slipped into deep water while taking bath in Rud Nallah at Dukhadda while the youth also drowned while attempting to rescue the former.
As per the reports, the duo was grazing their goats when Shoket Ali went to the nallah for bath and slipped into deep water. To rescue him, Mohd Arfan immediately jumped in the nallah but he also drowned in the deep water.
Later on, with the help of locals, both of them were pulled out of the water body in an unconscious state and rushed to a nearby healthcare facility where the doctors declared them as brought dead.
The police after completing all the medico-legal formalities, handed over the bodies to their respective families.
