JAMMU, Mar 13: Apni Party (AP) Jammu provincial president and former minister Manjit Singh today said that the people have endorsed the developmental agenda of the Party.
He was speaking at a joining program which was organized by Apni Party leader, Sheikh Mohammed Shafi at the Party Office in Gandhi Nagar. Dozens of people from Marh Block joined the Apni Party in presence of senior leaders while expressing their faith in the leadership of Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari.
The Former Minister welcomed the new entrants into the Party and hoped that their joining would strengthen the party. He highlighted the policy of the Apni Party.
Prominent among those who joined Apni Party include Captain Pardeep Kumar, Madan Lal, Bodri Nath, Bishnu Devi, Chaman Lal, Buwa Ditta and Pritoo Devi.
While speaking on the occasion, Manjit said that the Party leadership is committed for equitable development of all the regions of Jammu and Kashmir and to provide equal employment opportunities to the people.
He said if voted to power, Apni Party will provide 500 units of free electricity in Kashmir and 300 units of free electricity in the Jammu region during winter and summer seasons, respectively. He said that the Party will also enhance the widow pension/old age pension up to Rs 5000 and will provide four cooking gas cylinders to each family per year under Ujjawala scheme.
Meanwhile, he demanded that assembly elections must be held in J&K with the restoration of Statehood. “The people are fed up with the administration as they have lost connection with the people on ground and the developmental activities have also been going at a slow pace,” he said.
Prominent Party leaders present on the occasion were Arun Chibber, Faqir Nath (ex-MLA), Dr Rohit Gupta, Bodh Raj Bhagat, Ajaz Kazmi, Abhay Bakaya, Vipul Bali, Sardesh Rana, Joginder Singh, Shivam Choudhary and Ankush Dogra.
