JAMMU, Mar 13: Police in Bakshi Nagar area of the District invoked Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act against a 20-year-old youth for allegedly misbehaving with a 16-year-old girl.
A police spokesperson said that the accused is a resident of Roop Nagar, Janipur, Jammu, while the victim is a teenage girl from Sarwal area.
“The accused had been misbehaving with the victim for the past around one year but he was arrested today after the family members of the victim lodged a written complaint,” SHO Bakshi Nagar, Inspector Vishal Shur told the Excelsior.
Police have booked the accused in case FIR number 42/2023 under POSCO Act and taken up further investigations.
