Theft case worked out within 24 hours

JAMMU, Mar 14: Police in Akhnoor area of Jammu District claimed on Tuesday that they have solved a theft case within 24 hours of the receiving the complaint.
A police spokesperson said that information was received at Police Post Jourian regarding theft of a cow from the house of one the complainant.
Accordingly, he said, a case FIR number 86/2023 under section 379 IPC was registered at Police Station Akhnoor and further investigations taken up.
During the course of investigation, the police spokesperson said that special teams of Police Post Jourian under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Mohan Lal Sharma assisted by SHO Akhnoor Harjeet Singh and incharge Police Post Jourian, PSI Karnail Singh, acting on specific information generated through reliable sources recovered the stolen cow along with 7 other stolen bovines from the possession of three accused who have been identified as Talib Hussain, Mohammad Aslam of Trooti, Khour, and Rohit Kumar of Potha, Jourian.
“The accused confessed to their involvement in animal thefts during sustained questioning,” he said.
