JAMMU, Mar 15: Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh has sanctioned a welfare loan of Rs. 2.16 crore for serving police personnel and Rs. 1.10 crore as special welfare relief/ex-gratia relief in favor of six martyred or deceased police personnel/Special Police Officers (SPO).
A press statement said that he has sanctioned a welfare loan of Rs. 1.5 lakh each for 68 serving police personnel for their children’s marriage, Rs 1 lakh each for 93 police personnel for their own or their children’s marriage, and Rs 1.5 lakh each for 21 police personnel for their children’s professional education.
“He has also sanctioned Rs 50,000 each for two police personnel. The loan amount will be recovered from the police personnel in 20 equal instalments,” read the press statement.
Further, the DGP has approved special welfare relief/ex-gratia relief in favor of the next of kin (NoK) of martyred and deceased police personnel/SPO.
He has sanctioned Rs 38 lakh as ex-gratia relief for NoK of martyr Constable Mudasir Ahmad Sheikh, Rs 22 lakh each for the dependents/legal heirs of deceased police personnel HC Shiv Darshan Singh, SgCt Ab Rashid Khanday, and SgCt Parvaiz Ahmad who passed away due to health-related issues during their service.
He has also sanctioned Rs 6 lakh as special relief for the NoK of deceased SPO Romesh Kumar who passed away due to illness during his engagement with the department.
In another development, the Jammu and Kashmir Police Headquarters has issued promotion orders for 156 non-gazetted officers of different cadres to the next rank.
The press statement said that fifty-seven Sub-Inspectors of Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police/SDRF have been promoted to the rank of Inspectors, while 99 Assistant Sub-Inspectors of Jammu and Kashmir Executive Police have been promoted to the rank of Sub-Inspectors.
DGP Singh has congratulated the promoted officers and their families and expressed his hope that their promotion will inspire them to perform their duties with greater dedication and zeal.
