RAJOURI, Mar 15: Panchayat Secretaries of Rural Development Department (RDD) held protest demonstration in the premises of ACD at Rajouri today.
The J&K Panchayat Secretaries Association, is on three day pen down strike in support of their demand. They alleged that on directions of Commissioner Secretary RDD, the police arrested the state president of the Association, after which the association announced a strike at the UT level.
In Rajouri, the Panchayat Secretaries were protesting against the RDD authorities and JKUT administration. They raised slogans and demanded immediate release of the president of the association and fulfillment of other demands. On this occasion, the District president of the Association, Dilshad Malik, said that the only fault of our state president is that he held a meeting of his association on a holiday. Malik said that they have always participated in the additional program on the request of the government and always remained loyal to the department but we were always neglected. He said that the state association has announced a three-day strike and if our demands are not accepted, the call may be extended.
Later, Ex- MLC and BJP general secretary along with Chairman MC Rajouri Mohd Arif met the protesting employees where Vibodh Gupta told them that the issue will be taken up with higher authorities for redressal.
