General Council Meeting of DDC discusses developmental issues

KISHTWAR, Mar 16: Chairperson District Development Council (DDC) Kishtwar, Pooja Thakur here today chaired the General Council Meeting (GCM).
CEO General Council/ADDC Kishtwar, Sham Lal apprised all the members about GCM and its objectives.
He informed that the newly proposed plan for the FY 2023-24 is to be submitted soon and urged the members and concerned BDOs to complete the preparation of the plan in consultation with Gram Sabhas to avoid any overlapping of works.
The Chairperson reviewed sector wise physical and financial status of the works taken up under District Capex, Area Development Plan & DDC, BDC and PRIs plan for the FY 2022-23.
Joint Director Planning, Mohd. Iqbal apprised the Chairperson that under Area Development Plan (DDC, BDC and PRIs grant), a total of 2519 works were taken up, 2493 works were tendered out, 2433 works were allotted for execution and 1866 works have been completed so far.
During the meeting, the Council was apprised about the action taken report of grievances raised in previous GCM.
The concerned DDC and BDC members were informed about the latest status of the action taken by concerned departments on the grievances highlighted by the Council members in previous Council meeting.
During the meeting individual issues and grievances related to various departments of PHE, Health, JPDCL, Education, PWD etc were highlighted by the DDC and BDC members which were noted down by the CEO General Council.
The necessary directions were given to the concerned officers for immediate resolution of these highlighted issues.
The Chairperson stressed upon the concerned executive agencies to expedite the pace on the road in Dachhan and Marwah areas.
On the issue of the shortage of the doctors in the far flung areas of Kishtwar, the Council members were apprised that tele-medicine consultation under eSanjeevani will be made available for the people and patients of the far flung areas of Kuntwara, Chatroo etc which will ensure the augmentation of medicare facility in these areas.
The meeting was attended by SDM Chatroo, Inderjeet Singh Parihar, SDM Paddar Dr. Rishi Kumar Sharma, ACP Kishtwar Zakir Hussain Wani, Joint Director Planning Mohd Iqbal, DPO Kishtwar Sunil Bhutyal, all BDC Chairperson and DDC Members besides district and sectorial officers.
