JAMMU, Mar 19: The Tawi Welfare Society today organized a relief distribution function at Apnavan Sure to provide assistance to the underprivileged families of Tawi Island and its neighbouring areas.
A press statement said that the event was graced by Chandan Kohli, Senior Superintendent of Police, who distributed blankets and other essential items among those in need.
During his welcome address, Yash Paul Mangotra, the General Secretary of the Society, briefed the chief guest about the various activities that the Society has undertaken for the betterment of the marginalized and downtrodden sections of the society.
The Chief Guest, SSP Chandan Kohli, in his address, praised the society for its commendable work and promised to extend his support for its future endeavours. He also planted a sapling to mark the occasion.
Gagandeep Singh, Advisor of the Society, expressed gratitude to the chief guest for taking the time out of his busy schedule to attend the function and show his support.
