Punjab Govt honours Indian Oil for being highest tax payer

Sudeb Gupta, Executive Director, Punjab, Himachal and J&K State Office, Indian Oil receiving highest tax payer award from Sukhbir Singh Badal, Deputy CM Punjab.

NEW Delhi, Nov 15: In an impressive function held in Chandigarh, Government of Punjab honoured Indian Oil for being the highest tax payer in the State.
The award alongwith a citation was conferred to Indian Oil by Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab, Sukhbir Singh Badal, for its contribution of Rs 2367 crores to the exchequer.
The award was received by Sudeb Gupta, Executive Director, Punjab State Office in the presence of Swarup Chand Singla, Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Punjab, D P Reddy, Principal Secretary, Anurag Verma, Commissioner, Excise and Taxation Department, Govt of Punjab.
The Excise and Taxation Department, Punjab honoured the highest tax payers in the State, whose contribution has been the highest  in the form of VAT to the State Exchequer during the fiscal year 2012-13.
On the occasion, Sardar Sukhbir Singh Badal praised Indian Oil for its contribution to the State exchequer and development of the State.
