Council Chairman, Assembly Speaker call on Vohra

JAMMU, Nov 15: Amrit Malhotra, Chairman Legislative Council, called on N. N. Vohra, Governor, at Raj Bhavan, here today.
During their meeting, the Governor and Mr. Malhotra discussed several legislative matters and certain issues relating to the stable growth and advancement of the State.
Mubarak Gul, Speaker Legislative Assembly also called on Mr. Vohra. They discussed several matters relating to the rapid socio-economic advancement of the State.
Mr. Gul also briefed the Governor about the to-date status of the ongoing construction work of the new Legislature Complex at Jammu.
Meanwhile, Mr Vohra has  emphasized the high importance of imparting quality education along side focussing on ethical and moral values to nurture the younger generation to successfully shoulder the future responsibilities of nation building.
Interacting with a 6-member delegation of the Dewanini V. Badrinath Educational Trust, Jammu, which called on him at Raj Bhavan here today, the Governor observed that continuing efforts are required to be made by all the stakeholders to provide an enabling environment to the students so that they could shine in their chosen fields of study.
The delegation briefed the Governor about the establishment, history, growth and functioning of the DBN Trust Educational Institutions and its future Action Plan. They stated that about 2000 students are pursuing education in the three educational institutions run by the Trust in Jammu. Of them, two are upto the 10+2 level and the third one is upto 10th class.
The delegation invited the Governor to be the chief guest at the Golden Jubilee Year’s Joint Annual Function of DBN Trust Institutions being organized next month.
The delegation comprised Rajendra Kakkar, Manager Trustee and Lila Karan Sharma,  I.D. Soni, Krishan Gopal Agarwal, Yashpal Puri and Suresh Sharma, members of the Management Committee of the DBN Trust Institutions.
