GOC-in-C visits forward areas

JAMMU,  Nov 15: Lieutenant General Philip Campose, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) Western Command of Army visited forward areas of Jammu region  and reviewed security situation today. On his arrival, the Army Commander was received by Major General Ashwani Kumar, General Officer Commanding, Tiger Division and Group Captain SP Singh, Chief Operational Officer Air Force Station Jammu at Technical Airport Jammu.
During his forward area visit, the Army Commander interacted with officers and troops of Tiger Division deployed near I B in Jammu region. Major General Ashwani Kumar, GOC, Tiger Division who accompanied the General Officer, briefed the Army Commander about the State of present security scenario in the Jammu region.
The Army Commander applauded the state of operational preparedness and expressed his confidence that Tiger Division was ready to meet all challenges and would execute the assigned tasks in a befitting manner meeting the aspirations of the nation.
He also lauded the development projects undertaken in the border areas by the Army in conjunction with the civil authorities. In the afternoon, the General reached Pathankot where he was received by Lieutenant General Praveen Bakshi GOC Rising Star Corps for further visits in that region.
