NEW DELHI, Mar 22: National Conference Member of the Parliament from Anantnag, Hasnain Masoodi urged Government of India to immediately address the grievances of daily-wage workers by fast tracking their regularization and absorbing them as permanent employees in the respective departments.
While speaking on the matter under Rule 377 in Lok Sabha, Masoodi said: “The plight of more than 60 thousand contractual workers, CPW, HDF workers, ad-hoc workers, CIC operators, home guards, Teachers of Tribal seasons School, Contractual Health workers and Asha workers is worth noting. They have been working hard non-stop for decades in different departments of J&K.”
Observing that constant protests by these daily rated workers for regularization and increase in wages as per Minimum Wages Act have remained unheard, the MP stressed that it’s high time that their demands are met.
