Narayan Sai declared wanted, Rs 5 lakh reward announced

AHMEDABAD, Nov 16: Gujarat Government has announced a reward of Rs 5 lakh for information leading to the arrest of Narayan Sai, the son of Asaram Bapu, who is accused of raping a young woman in his ashram.
Rewards of Rs 1 lakh each have also been declared for Hanuman and Jamuna, close accomplices of Naryan Sai. All three have been declared wanted by the Surat police after they continued to evade arrest in the rape case.
According to Surat police, the police have put up posters of all three wanted accused seeking information about their whereabouts from the people. A Surat court has already declared Naryan Sai an absconder. His property will be attached if he fails to appear before the police within a month’s time, the police said.
Meanwhile, the police has continued to raid several places in the country in search of Narayan Sai who has been giving a slip to the police in its efforts to nab him.
Two Surat-based women have filed separate rape complaints against Narayan Sai and his father Asaram Bapu with Surat police.
Asaram is already in a Jodhpur jail following a rape complaint by a minor girl with Jodhpur police. Asaram was brought to Ahmedabad on a transit warrant in connection with the rape complaint filed at Surat police station which was later transfered to Ahmedabad as the alleged crime was committed at his Ahmedabad ashram.
