KATHUA, Mar 24: District police, Kathua has successfully solved a theft case and recovered a 12 bore weapon from the possession of an accused who was arrested and the weapon was seized in Bani area.
Based on the complaint filed by Nazir Ahmed, son of Ghulam of Chandel regarding theft of his weapon for which a case FIR 12/23 U/S 457/380 IPC registered at PS Bani and Bani launched an investigation into the theft case.
Police said yesterday police team led by Inspector, Jaswinder Singh SHO, PS Bani under the supervision of SDPO Basohli, Aakash Kohli apprehended one suspect namely Mohammad Abbas, son of Nazir Ahmed of Barmota Bani who was identified during the investigation and was taken into custody. Upon interrogation, the accused confessed to stealing the 12 bore weapon from the complainant’s home. Thereafter the police team recovered the stolen weapon from his possession which was seized and legal proceedings are underway.
