GCOE conducts Nukad Natak on harassment of women

JAMMU, Mar 24: SPARSH Committee in collaboration with NSS Unit and Nature Club of Government College of Education (GCOE) Jammu organized Nukkad Natak on the theme “Shhh Se Shor Tak …break the silence” at village Nadwal under the guidance of Principal Prof Aekta Gupta.
The programme was coordinated by Convener SPARSH Prof Anuradha Choudhary, NSS Programme Officer Dr Shubhra Jamwal and Convener Nature Club Dr Shalini Sharma.
The main purpose of Nukad Natak was to create awareness among masses about eve teasing, domestic violence and workplace harassment faced by the women. Through the play the villagers were motivated to raise their voice against any sort of harassment against the women. Students highlighted different Sections of Indian Penal Code that provide protection to women against violence and harassment.
Principal Prof Aekta Gupta appreciated the efforts of student volunteers and encouraged them to participate in these activities, Nature Walk and further to organise such type of awareness campaign in future as well.
The faculty members who attended the programme included Prof Anju Bala, Prof Sarita Dogra, Prof Anuradha Choudhary, Dr Shubhra Jamwal, Prof Shalini Sharma and Prof Vinay Lata. The program was also attended by Pradeep Bali along with others.
