MS SDH Shopian directs Fair Price Shop allotee to pay Rs 2.3 cr

Srinagar, Mar 24: Soon after being assigned the look-after charge, the new Medical Superintendent, District Hospital (DH) Shopian has issued a notice to the Fair Price Shop, directing it to deposit the outstanding amount within 10 days.
The notice has been served to Mohammad Ashraf Shah S/O Gh Ahmad Shah R/O Hergam, Shopian—the proprietor of the Fair Price Medical Shop (Amit Medical Store) situated at the District Hospital in Shopian
“You were allotted Fair Price Medical Shop on 12-09-2012 for being the highest bidder for Rs. 51. 01 Lacs for a period of five years,” notice reads.
It said that the authorities had issued Notice for recovery of balance amount to tune of Rs. 21,96.000/- (Twenty One Lac and ninety six thousand) vide No MS/DH-SPN/831-36. dated, 07-08-2017 “and you preferred writ petition before the High Court against the notice.”
The High Court of J&K, the notice states, passed a stay order with respect to the operation/implementation of the impugned notice bearing No. MS/DH-SPN/831-36. dated, 07-08-2017.
“…The outstanding/pending payment against Fair Price Shop, C/O M/S Amir Medical Store till 31-12-2022 calculated by this office is Rs. 2.29,36479 and also stands submitted to the office of Deputy Commissioner, Shopian vide this office No. MS/DH-SPN/Accts/2022-23/149-50, Dated: 18/01/2023 by the then Medical Superintendent District Hospital, Shopian.”
The notice issued by the MS states that an amount to the tune of Rs. 2,29,36479/- is outstanding, “out of which an amount to the tune of Rs. 21,96,000/- has been stayed by the Court in OWP No. 1514/2017, IA No. 01/2017.”
Therefore, the notice reads, you are directed to deposit the outstanding amount of Rs. 2, 29,36479/- (excluding the amount stayed by the Hon’ble High Court of J&K till the outcome of writ petition bearing No. OWP No. 1514/2017, IA No. 01/2017), within ten days.
Notably, Dr Rubina In-Charge Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Shopian has been given the additional charge of Medical Superintendent, DH Shopian in addition to her duties till further orders.
