MENDHAR, Nov 17: A youth was critically injured after he was stabbed by some unidentified assailants in the town last night.
The victim has been identified as Rafooz Ahmed (25), son of Mohd Taj Khan, resident of Naka Majari in Mendhar. He was working as booking agent for the local transport vehicles/ Tata Sumos etc. The incident took place when he was returning from the house of his sister at around 10.30 pm near Saria Market. As he was passing through a dark lane, two unidentified men attacked him with rod and some sharp edged weapons and escaped under the cover of darkness.
Rafooz cried for help and fell down at some distance after running. The people rushed to the spot hearing his screams. The police also reached there immediately. He was found there in a pool of blood and shifted to local hospital. The doctors provided preliminary treatment and then referred him to Rajouri hospital. The police registered a case and started investigation. No clue could be established about the assailants.
