National conference on causes, treatment of gout diseases begins

JAMMU, Mar 29: A two-day national conference on the causes and treatment of gout diseases began today at the Department of Jyotisha, Shri Ranbir Campus, Jammu of Central Sanskrit University.
The specialty of this conference is that research papers will be presented in all aspects of Indian knowledge-tradition in which Jyotisha, Ayurveda and Yoga-Shastra are the main ones, regarding the various causes of gout diseases and their treatment. Professors and research students from every corner of India will express their views on the methods of treatment of gout diseases through both offline and online modes.
In the inaugural ceremony, theme of the conference was introduced by Prof Shyamdev Mishra, Head of the Department of Jyotisha, Central Sanskrit University, Jammu Campus.
Prof Sarvanarayan Jha, Director, Lucknow Campus of Central Sanskrit University was the chief guest and he emphasized on aspects of serious research about the different causes of diseases.
Prof Nagendra Pandey, former HoD, President of Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust and Sampurnanand Sanskrit University was special guest and highlighted the important role of Saturn in the main causes of gout diseases.
As the keynote speaker, Prof Girija Shankar Shastri, HoD Jyotisha, Kashi Hindu University, demonstrated various points of view of Jyotisha and Ayurveda in the causes and solutions of Vata diseases.
In his presidential address, Prof Madan Mohan Jha, Director, Jammu Campus, emphasized the need for organizing such conferences to discover the causes of diseases and to know the natural Ayurvedic methods of their treatment.
As a special speaker, Acharya of Ayurveda, Faculty of Banaras-Hindu-University and India’s well-known pulse-specialist Vaidya Sushil Dubey, spoke in great detail on the origin of arthritis and their treatment. He expressed his views on the origin of different diseases and opined that in all the three doshas, Vata is the most dominant while the rest Kapha and bile take shelter in it.
Dr Chandramouli Raina, former Professor of the Department of Jyotish of the University, expressed his views on the causes and treatment of diseases from astrological point of view.
Prof Prashant Kumar Rai of Yoga-Shastra from Government University, Azamgarh described the Indian way of life as the best of life He emphasized on the need of complete knowledge and application of Ashtanga-Yoga of Yogadarshan-preacher Acharya Patanjali in eliminating the diseases.
Dr Ramdas presented vote of thanks in the inauguration ceremony and Dr Prasad Bhatt conducted the proceedings.
