JAMMU, Mar 29: Deputy Mayor, Baldev Singh Billawaria here today started tube-well work which will incur an expenditure of over Rs. 65 lakh.
Nariender Singh Jamwal, former JMC Chairman and Councillor of Ward number 70 was also present on the occasion.
The work of tube-well will be taken up under Prime Minister’s Jal Jeevan Mission.
Speaking on the occasion, Billawaria said that work of the tube-well was a long pending demand of the area and after its completion the people of Sainik Colony will no longer face water crisis.
He also said that focus of Jal Jeevan Mission is on ‘Har Ghar Nal Se Jal’ to ensure piped water supply to every household in the country.
“All efforts will be made in near future to ensure further development in Jammu,” he maintained.
JMC Councillor Nariender Singh said that this is a very important project for the area and it will benefit a large number of people.
He further said that the JMC is taking all possible measures to provide all basic amenities to the citizens of Jammu.
Prominent among those present on the occasion were Ravi Bakshi, Parmodh Chib, Umesh Sharma, Kamal Netra, Gopal Khajuria, Saroj Manhas, Bodh Raj and others.
