Murder case solved within 72 hours, accused held

JAMMU, Mar 29: Police claimed today that they have worked out a murder case of an 85-year-old man within 72 hours and arrested the accused.
A police spokesperson said that an information was received on March 26 that one Rodh Kumar son of Mela Ram was murdered in the DPS Lane area falling under the jurisdiction of Police Post Residency.
On this, he said, a case FIR number 18/2023 under section 302 of the IPC was registered at Police Station City and investigation started.
The police spokesperson further said that later special police teams of Police Post Residency led by SDPO North Sunil Kesar assisted by SHO City Mohinder Singh and Incharge Police Post Residency Darshan Singh generated information through sources and CCTV footage and rounded up the accused Mohammad Ramzan Dar of Bawe Wali Gali near Shahidi Chowk Jammu within 72 hours.
“Subsequently, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted for further investigation,” he added.
