JAMMU, Mar 31: A 46-year-old woman who was allegedly suffering from depression ended her life by hanging herself to death here at Parveen Colony area of Extension Trikuta Nagar falling under the jurisdiction of Channi Himmat Police Station.
A police spokesperson said that Ritika (46) wife of Kapil Ghai of House number 140, Sector 1A, Parveen Colony, Extension Trikuta Nagar, Jammu was found hanging at her home today.
She was taken to Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu by her husband, where doctors declared her as dead on arrival.
“The woman was suffering from depression and was taking anti-depressants for long,” a police officer said, quoting initial investigations.
Meanwhile, he said, “police have initiated inquest proceedings to ascertain the actual reason behind the woman’s death.”
