SRINAGAR, Nov 18: High Court today directed the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir to prevent any further constructions on the house of Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan.
Court in its order directed maintaining of status quo on the construction of Minister’s house at Humhama in Srinagar outskirts near Srinagar Airport.
Justice Bansi Lal Bhat, after hearing a writ petition filed by Dr. Ghulam Nabi Yatoo, a resident of Friends Enclave of Humhama, directed that status quo be maintained on the spot as its exists today till the next hearing.
Yatoo in his petition has alleged that Choudhary Ramzan has managed permission from Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) to build a two-storey residential house which is in clear violation of the sanctioned plan at the site.
The petitioner has accused Ramzan of grabbing public land and green strip reserved for beautification of the Colony, which is detrimental to rights and interests of its inhabitants.
High Court issued notices to Chief Secretary, Commissioner Secretary Housing and Urban Development, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Chairman and Commissioner BOCA, Chief Enforcement Officer SMC and Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan to maintain status quo at the site.
The court added the directions should be enforced and implemented by Divisional Commissioner, who will take all necessary measures to prevent any further construction activity on the spot.
