JAMMU, Nov 18: A meeting of All India Backward Classes Union (AIBCU) was held here, today under the chairmanship of its president Abdul Majid Malik in which the problems being faced by the working class in State were discussed.
The meeting criticized the Government for its apathy towards the employees and pensioners of the State and alleged that in view of the steep price hike it is difficult for them to make both ends meet.
They said that the Central Government employees have been given 10 per cent DA installment in September with effect from July this year while the State Government is delaying the same.
The meeting in an appeal to Chief Minister urged him to release the DA installment at an earliest. It further demanded merging of 50 per cent DA with basic pay.
Prof Kali Dass, Swaran Singh, Sandokh Chand, Thoru Ram and others attended the meeting.
