J&K to touch new heights under present Govt: Randhawa

JAMMU, Apr 1: Former Legislator and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, Vikram Randhawa today said that Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha administration has taken various out of box decisions for development of J&K UT and welfare of its people.
Addressing a gathering of BJP activists from R S Pura Jammu South constituency, he informed them that during his meeting with Lt Governor he apprised him about the various development works which are under going in the constituency.
He said in addition to it he discussed various issues pertaining to J&K with LG. He said it is the matter of pride for the people of J&K that Manoj Sinha has secured 24th rank amongst the powerful Indians and expressed the hope that with the fast track development taking place in UT the J&K will touch new heights under the leadership of Mr Sinha.
He said the efforts being made by Manoj Sinha towards development of Jammu and Kashmir deserve all kudos.
Randhawa, while commenting on working of the Geology and Mining Department, said with the ban on illegal mining the people in J&K UT get construction material on reasonable rates and this has been possible with the efforts of the LG administration as well Secretary Mining, Amit Sharma who is taking every possible step to wipe out mining mafia from the UT.
He said the Department took various steps to curb illegal mining.
“Due to illegal mining, people of Jammu and Kashmir were facing manifold problems and strictness of the Geology and Mining Department has provided a major relief to them”, Randhawa said, adding that now people are able to purchase the construction materials on nominal rates.
“Due to illegal mining, the Government was facing huge loss and now with the efforts of the Geology and Mining Department Officers, Government is receiving good revenue”, Randhawa maintained.
