Deposit weapons without valid license or face action: DC Jammu

JAMMU, Apr 2: Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Avny Lavasa, has given a final opportunity to the arms holders, who don’t possess any license, to deposit their weapons in the concerned police station within a period of 10 days.
A notice issued by the DC Jammu in this context reads, “whereas, this office had directed for deposition of arms, the licenses of which were not uploaded on the NDAL-ALIS portal or didn’t have a UIN or were issued by the SDMs and Tehsildars or not renewed due to whatever reasons; whereas, it has come to the notice of this office that there still are a number of people possessing weapons despite the above mentioned discrepancies in their Arms licenses”.
“Now therefore, through the medium of this notice, last opportunity is given to anybody possessing any weapon wherein he/she doesn’t have a valid arms license to deposit his/her weapon in the police station concerned within a period of 10 days, falling which, action as warranted under law shall be initiated against that defaulter,” it further reads.
