JAMMU, Apr 2: Yudhvir Sethi, vice president Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu and Kashmir and councillor Nidhi Mangotra kick-started the blacktopping of road in Ward No 17 here, today.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Raman Sharma, Ambphalla Mandal president; Balwan Singh, ex-councillor Ward No: 17; Sanjeev Kumar, booth president; Sanjay Bhat, Balbir Singh and Ashok besides a large number of local residents.
While addressing the gathering, Yudhvir Sethi said that it was a genuine demand of the people of this area to blacktop the roads and lanes and after being brought to our notice by the councillor, Nidhi Mangotra the initiative was mooted in the least possible time as a result of which the work execution has commenced today. He said that after completion of this work estimated to cost Rs. 26 lakh the people living in the area besides other commuters will get benefited. He asserted that BJP Government at the Centre stands fully committed to the overall development of Jammu and Kashmir besides ensuring ease of living to the people and in this regard there is no dearth of funds for this UT which receives special attention of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Councillor, Nidhi Mangotra while addressing the gathering congratulated the people of the Ward for the fulfilment of their demand of blacktopping of the road/lane. She said that public service is at the core of BJP ideology and she is leaving no stone unturned in serving the people of her Ward. She said that as a foot soldier of the party it is her prime duty to remain among the people and address their issues by taking up the same with the concerned authorities.
