JK Cements retired employees plea to LG, Principal Secy

JAMMU, Apr 2: J&K cement Retired Employees Front has made an appeal to Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha and Principal Secretary Industries and Commerce, JK UT to come to rescue of retired employees of JK Cements Limited who are leading a miserable life due to non release of their all earnings and legitimate retirement dues partly from 2012 and fully from 2017.
In a statement the Front said that many of the families of these employees are at the verge of starvation while some are unable to arrange marriage of their grown of children especially daughters due to paucity of resources as they could not get the retirement benefits and other emoluments needed to pass the old age days.
The Front though expressing satisfaction over the efforts of UT Government for early finalization of disinvestment of JK Cement company but due to procedural delays the retired employees get badly affected. The Front said it has time and again informed to the Government that 115 retired employees of JK Cements have already expired due to financial constraints as they could not afford the proper treatment of their ailments and the remaining who are involved in different ailments and are on ventilator.
The Front, while reiterating its appeal to LG administration urged it to come to the rescue of hapless retired employees by releasing some advance from Government funds before the approaching of auspicious festival of Shabi Qadar and Eid-ul-Fiter so that these hapless employees can also heave a sigh of relief and purchase food and medicines on the auspicious occasion of these two festivals.
