NEW DELHI, Nov 19: Jeera prices gained 1.55 per cent to Rs 12,600 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators enlarged positions supported by rising demand in the spot markets due to ongoing marriage season.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in November gained Rs 192.50, or 1.55 per cent, to Rs 12,600 per quintal with an open interest of 237 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in December traded up by Rs 20, or 0.16 per cent, to Rs 12,830 per quintal in 8,091 lots.
Analysts said speculators enlarged their positions, supported by good spot market demand due to ongoing marriage season, mainly helped jeera prices to trade higher at futures trade. (PTI)
