JAMMU, Apr 2: Uma Bhagwati Asthapan Trust Umanagri celebrated Uma Jayanti with religious fervor. In this connection a hawan was solemnized by the Trust at Sharda Peeth Bantalab as usual under the presidentship of Girdhari Lal Pandit.
Hundreds of devotees drawn from different parts of Jammu thronged the Sharda Pheet temple to seek blessings of Mata Uma Bhagwati.
The hawan started with Kalash Pooja and culminated with Puran Ahooti followed by Prashad Vitran.
The Bajan Kirtan was also held. P. N. Koul vice president of the Trust threw light on the religious significance of Uma Jayanti.
