Drug peddlers held with heroin-like-substance

JAMMU, Apr 2: Police claimed today that they have arrested two drug peddlers from Bishnah area here and recovered 4.5 grams of heroin-like-substance from their possession.
A police spokesperson said that Vishal Singh Charak alias Vishu and Rajan Virdi, both residents of Langar Pind, By-Pass Kunjwani, Teshil Bishnah, Jammu, were arrested with 4.5 grams of the contraband during a routine naka checking on the Kunjwani-Bishnah road.
“The Bolero vehicle in which the duo was travelling has also been seized,” he said.
Police have booked the accused in case FIR number 77/2023 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Bishnah and taken up further investigation.
Pertinently, the recovery was made by a police team headed by SDPO RS Pura, Surinder Singh, assisted by SHO Bishnah, Vikram Sharma under the overall supervision of SSP Jammu, Chandan Kohli.
