Notorious thief arrested

JAMMU, Apr 2: Police today claimed that they have arrested a notorious thief who was involved in over 100 thefts reported from different parts of the District and other States.
A police spokesperson said that Sukhwinder Singh alias Shivu alias Ashu of Amritsar at present Narwal Channi was wanted in 15 FIRs registered in Jammu and other States.
He said that on receiving inputs about the presence of accused in Jammu, special police teams of Police Post Rehari led by SDPO North Sunil Kumar Kesar assisted by SHO Pacca Danga Inspector Rakesh Sharma and incharge Police Post Rehari PSI Anil Kumar raided the suspected location and arrested the accused.
“During questioning, the accused confessed to his involvement in several theft cases including the recent Rs 1.5 lakh theft case at Janipur and Rs 40000 theft case at Tallab Tillo,” he said, adding, “thorough questioning of the accused is going on and huge recovery of the stolen items is expected soon.”
